Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, artist Carol Hallock lives in a home on stilts on Bayou Lacombe. Painting almost exclusively in oils, she is known for capturing the unique beauty of her surroundings, often painting the bayou and marsh from her kayak.
Carol has produced books of her work as well as nationally televised “how-to” videos including two volumes of “The Art of Loose Painting.” Her work has won wide acclaim for its loose, painterly strokes, and can be found in collections across the United States and in galleries in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. Carol has been the subject of magazine covers and numerous newspaper and magazine articles.
