Rhenda C. Saporito has lived more than half her life in New Orleans, and studied color theory, abstract painting, life drawing, and sculpture at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. Her studies have concentrated on abstract expressionist artists, including Diebenkorn, DeKooning, Rauschenberg, and Joan Mitchell, and she has participated in workshops with several internationally-known artists.
The intuitive application of mixed media on canvas or paper is her primary focus. Many times a painting takes its own turn into chaos and she must paint out of the chaos.
